A lot of businesses pay a designer for a new site, then pay someone else to fix its SEO a few months later. The designer did not think about keywords. The SEO person cannot change the layout. You end up paying twice and waiting longer for results.
When I build a site I already know how I am going to rank it. Pages are planned around the services and suburbs people search for. Headings, titles and internal links are done properly from the first draft. The Google Business Profile is checked and linked before launch.
It also means one person to call. If a page is not ranking, I do not have to ask a developer for permission to change it. I just fix it.

Common combinations and where they fit
Websites are a fixed quote with GST included. SEO is monthly with no lock in, so you can start it at launch or later on.
An $880 one page site with Starter SEO at $279 a month. Suits a sole trader in one or two suburbs who mostly needs to show up on Google Maps.
A $2,200 site with up to five service pages, paired with Growth SEO at $719 a month for suburb pages and regular posts. The most common setup.
A $3,300 site with bookings or an online shop, matched with Growth or Advanced SEO for competitive trades and bigger product ranges.
The part many rebuilds get wrong
If your current site already ranks for something, a careless rebuild can wipe that out overnight. Pages get new addresses, old links break and Google has to start again. I have seen businesses lose most of their enquiries this way.
Before I touch anything I record which pages bring traffic and what they rank for. Old addresses are kept where possible. Anything that has to change gets a permanent redirect. After launch I watch Search Console closely for errors.
